The Qualifiaction Range
Qualification is held at Bracken Rifle and Pistol Recreational Range. The class ends after qualification, which is completed toward the end of the day.
The course of fire was developed by DPS and is used by all Texas Concealed Handgun Instructors. The first 20 rounds are fired from the three-yard line; the next 20 rounds from the 7-yard line and the final 10 from the 15-yard line.
If you wish to qualify with a semi automatic weapon, but do not have one, a few are available to rent for $40.00, which includes ammo. For safety reasons a table will be provided for your weapon and ammunition for the purpose of reloading. If you have your own ear protection, please feel free to bring them. If not, they will be furnished to you. Remember to bring your own eye protection.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to facilitate a quick and effortless qualification, please know your handgun and make sure it is in good working order. We do reserve the right to prohibit the firing of an unstable or unsafe weapon.
